Hi, Ilshat!

I am glad to write you that now I am a first-year student of the Institute of Biology at Tyumen state University. My specialty is Biology. My building is located at Pirogova 3. Nearby is the hostel number 4, where there are students of not only our Institute but of the other buildings of our University, too. Near the hostel there is a stadium in where we have PE classes in the summer and spring.

Our Institute has a great dining room and two small gyms. The building has 4 floors, each floor belongs to a certain Department. For example, on the 4th floor my favorite Department is located: Zoology and evolutionary ecology of animals. |There is a Zoological Museum, Conservatory and a modern laboratory. Every student will find here an opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

Studying in our Institute you get a lot of positive emotions and they all come from the people. Each student of our Institute is unique - has something special. Our teachers are highly qualified specialists who always help students if they have something they cannot do. They're mostly candidates and professors in various sciences.

Our classes start at 8: 30 am and they last until about 4 pm. Each lecture or seminar lasts for an hour and a half. During the first two years, students are given lectures in the main areas of science and history. Then they are grouped according to  their specialties, particularly in the Biology department there is a

choice of 4 departments, each of which is then split into a different major. It could be Botany, Zoology, Physiology or Bio-ecology. After this divisio, a student writes a term paper, and at the fourth course - a diplomawork. If desired, he can after getting a bachelor's degree one can start a master's degree studies which  last two more years.

In accordance with our curriculum, we learn not only basic English, but also profession oriented terms. It is needed inorder to read the European, American magazines, articles and books on our specialty.
